• 4Teachers is a helpful site about how to use technology in the classroom. It also gives links to various useful tools such as a quiz and rubric maker.

• My TeacherTube. This is a site like YouTube but appropriate for class and just for teachers!

• Ask a ninja is a YouTube phenomenon that answers questions such as “What is Podcasting?” in a unique and fun way. It can be used in the English classroom to teach metaphors!

• switchpod.com is a website that allows you to create podcast very easily. It would be a great resource in the classroom if you want your students to do a podcasting project.

• Mabry Middle School is an innovative school that embraces the use of technology in the classroom. Their website offers numerous examples of students’ self-produced videos and other digital projects.

• Media Literacy: The following clips from YouTube are useful in teaching Media Literacy and can spark a lot of discussion in the classroom.
  • Controversial Carl Jr. commercial that is set in a school with a sexualized image of the teacher.
  • Milwaukee Best commercial challenging gender roles and asks “What is a man?”.
  • Tahoe Parody made to make fun of the way Tahoes and other SUVs are portrayed in commercials as well as make a statement of their own.
